The Truth About Tamoxifen (Part 1 of 2)Together we will beat cancer More...More...More...Are you hereTamoxifen someone decided not to take drugs? Post Log in post92 posts since28 Apr 2016well my radiation therapy has been tangled as last week I was on my way to start it and decided it would be better in this breath bra one and its now start a month later! Now go back to the hosp on Monday as you want to start Tamoxifeno! for a month, then stop it for treatment and then start again. I'm really not happy to take this drug. No one seems to be publishing something positive. everyone saying weight gain together pain usually feels ****! I'm all ready perimenopausal so I've already gone through all the hot sweats and stopped their thinking again, waking up in a sweat bath in the bed embarrassed when I'm out sweating myself out on a night out etc. I'm not filled with joy. Looks like there's more reason not to take it from what takes it. What about the quality of life? your assumption to stop the cancer that returns, but will it? or will I just spend the next 10 years ( im 45) being the pain of being fat and miserable ( size im 14 now I don't want to be 18+) I know the Doctor's boss tomorrow, that my body asks me to put a poision on my body for 10 years. I feel 50/50 that with an umpectomy and nodes involved clear margains and radio t I don't want to take the drugs and I'd rather have 10 more years of being happy and drug-free and if I die at 55 then so it's because what kind of life can be if I can't get out of bed in the morning or walk my dog or do anything physical and then feel depressed like hell. I'm really having second thoughts about this drug... I feel bad. How about I get the overies that hormones produce? Suzie.2792 posts since7 Oct 2013 Hello Susie, I don't know anything about Tamoxifeno, but I do remember high-sports to have it available on the NHS - basically NICE argued it was too expensive. I just did a Google search and tripped through this article about side effects vs results (which you may have already seen). Best wishes Dave121 posts from20 Apr 2016 Hello Suziesuze I've been taking Tamoxifeno for the last 3 months and apart from light weight gain around my center I have not experienced any other side effects of them ... so please do not stop taking them ... currently trimming my food consumption to fight the weight ive got atm but its very doable .... I wish you the best in everything you decide to do, but please don't come in to take the tablets with negative thoughts that will suffer all those nasty side effects because you can find it well that you care for nothing ok :) 1 posts since25 Jul 201692 posts since28 Apr 2016HI Debbs, I now have the script for Tamoxifen. I know what to expect with the flaushes as menopaual peri so not looking forward to that again wearing flip flops and vest tops in summer ! Last year I surrendered from being a sea of night to sleep I felt like I was shaking with shame half the time. Weight gain I really hope that not as ive lost a rock throu stress and quite as being a pleasant 14 again and disconcerting I am determined not to let that happen. I still care about the 10-year-old thing, I know it's just a pill, but it still has side effects. I hope he's one of those who don't hit the force. I'm a gardener and I'd hate to have my legs and arms hurt all the time as some women have reported. Everything ready has a test standing and artritus on my only elbow that disables me enough lol. Any advice would be imprisoned. 1 posts since22 May 2020Hi! I'm exactly your situation. T! What did you do? I'd love to hear your comments since all I'm getting is taking the drug and I really don't want to. I hope you are well and without cancer and tamoxifen. good greetings 4650 publications since18 Aug 2017 Hello... I read that you said your oncologist was a boss... well they see many patients every day, so what is "normal to them, is the first to us" I told my surgeon from the beginning... soft but firmly... this is my cancer... I'll take all the facts and statistics... and percentages and we'll all put them, and then I'll decide what's right for me... it was taken back, but it was amazing after that... and we had respect for each other.. Now to cut a long short story, I asked the % of tamoxifen, that would make a difference... it was much lower then I thought... if I were you, do your homework and find out that... as I don't want to persuade you in any way... I decided to prove it... and see how it goes... as it was positive oestrogen... the first month, my emotions were everywhere... crying all over, and I'm a pretty tough cookie... then it was established, and I managed to stay in it for two years, before the pain and discomfort were unbearable... since I've served bone problems anyhow... and I had to stop it, and my pains and pains have it all. Chrissie x1 posts since15 Jun 2020 I just started taking anastrozole and having horrible side effects, insomnia, pained mouth, headaches, why am I taking this medicine, I don't think I will continue with it, I don't want this for the next 10yrs.9 posts since28 Jun 2020 Hello. They put me in anastrozole 4 years ago and I experienced terrible side effects, especially with the ankles and the swollen feet and gave me pain. At the end I took them off and told my oncologist that I was not prepared to continue. They asked me to try Tamoxifeno and I've been taking it since. All the side effects I experienced in the anastrozole disappeared but unfortunately my hair is a problem in the tamoxifen since it has turned very well and showing bald patches at the top. I had been wearing a wig until last month and since I decided to leave it and now I have a band that helps disguise my baldness. I still feel safer taking Tamoxifeno than leaving.
